Color blocking outfit. And let’s talk about shirts!
The other day I saw a post on Facebook saying something like this: “I haven’t worn shirts for years. In the end, shirts are for guys, and skirts are for ladies…”
Seriously?
Let’s talk about shirts!
Why would somebody think that way?
I guess she has plausible reasons. However, I think wearing shirts these days is one of the easiest ways to look good and modern. They are easy to match with other clothes, they can be worn day and night, and changing your style from casual to elegant to business is easy-peasy.
I can’t forget how sexy and outstanding Sharon Stone was looking at the 1998 Oscars when she was wearing a shirt with a satin skirt. It wasn’t even her shirt, but the one of her husband. History repeated, with Tilda Swinton in 2011 at the Golden Globes, and Julia Roberts outfit at the Golden Globes in 2014.
What else can I say? From my perspective, it’s just one those chameleon pieces of clothing that can be easily transformed into whatever according to the situation. And I found them… really sexy!
Shirts for a casual and color-blocking outfit
Just to reinforce my passion for shirts, I’m sharing with you one casual color blocking outfit. I’m wearing a green shirt from a local store in Valencia. I just love the fabric, the design with the sequins on the collar, and the way it looks on me! The mustard pants are from Naf Naf, my super comfortable golden flats from a Spanish brand and bag in a zebra kind of print that I bought at a vintage market in Alicante.
Enjoy the photos! They were taken in Santander, Spain.
What do you think: Shirts are really only for men and office-looks? Do you like wearing them?
